Description
Clomid is an anti-estrogen from the class of selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs). Beginners should understand that its mechanism differs from that of aromatase inhibitors. Clomid works by blocking estrogen receptors, thereby reducing estrogen activity, but it does not lower the overall estrogen concentration in the body.
Because of this, Clomid is primarily recommended for post-cycle therapy (PCT) rather than for use during a steroid cycle. Using Clomid during a cycle will not stop the aromatization process and therefore will not prevent estrogen-related side effects effectively.
Additionally, the active ingredient, Clomiphene Citrate, stimulates the production of endogenous testosterone, which makes it a valuable drug for restoring natural hormone levels after a cycle.
